On May 25th Oracle presented their Townhall – Your Digital Journey with JD Edwards. This webinar addressed hot topics in the JD Edwards community such as; EnterpriseOne 9.2 Upgrade, the announcement of Extended Support Timelines, UX One and more. Attendees were able to ask questions that were then compiled into the attached PDF, with responses from Oracle! The question below is just one example of some of the great inquiries we received on the webinar.
Does the statement “9.2 may be JD Edwards’ last release” really mean that JDE is going into support mode and we are waiting for Oracle Fusion as the next stage for JDE customers?
Oracle: EnterpriseOne 9.2 is the Continuous Delivery code line for JD Edwards customers. It is NOT an indication of a last release. With a Continuous Delivery model, we release product innovation and features in smaller updates on a more frequent basis. This allows our customers to achieve shorter time-to-value cycles for their investments in JD Edwards, without the cost and disruption associated with a major upgrade cycle. Customers still have the choice and control on when and what they want to adopt. Our most recent release (April 2017) was the sixth round of continuous delivery enhancements since the JD Edwards EnterpriseOne 9.2 release became generally available in October 2015. Take a look at the feature highlights page on LearnJDE.com to learn more. Read the JD Edwards Attitude@Altitude Blog for more on Continuous Delivery.
