The Value Of Oracle Support For PeopleSoft

Christina Yue, Customer Learning Manager |

In this video, Marc Weintraub discussed Oracle’s ongoing commitment to its PeopleSoft customers and the continuing innovation in PeopleSoft and the PeopleSoft product suites. Marc focused on the value Oracle support brings to PeopleSoft.

State of PeopleSoft

The current state of PeopleSoft is strong; with over 5,000 customers worldwide, 80% of the active install base has adopted the current PeopleSoft offering. Currently, Oracle has delivered over 1,500 new features, which demonstrates Oracle’s commitment to the PeopleSoft solution. Moreover, Oracle recently announced it would extend support “through at least” 2030. Oracle is setting the policy that until further notice, Premier Support “through at least” 2030 will be extended by one year on an annual basis to ensure a minimum of a rolling ten years of Premier Support for the applications.

These updates to Oracle’s lifetime support policy for PeopleSoft applications apply to Oracle’s other existing application suites including the e-Business Suite, JD Edwards and Siebel. This update firmly establishes Oracle’s commitment to support its existing applications and communicates to its customers that there are no plans to end support or investment for these solutions. By providing customers with a stable and predictable long-term support policy for their existing applications, Oracle’s customers can have the confidence they need to make the best decisions relating to their Oracle investments.

Investments and Enhancements

Oracle’s ongoing investment in PeopleSoft has brought tremendous innovation to the PeopleSoft product and made today’s PeopleSoft a robust and modern solution that customers desire because of its many great qualities. These qualities include a modern, intuitive mobile user experience which enables simplified interactions; embedded analytics which provide businesses with insights; and flexibility to tailor and personalize PeopleSoft through configuration.

These enhancements have brought significant value to PeopleSoft customers. The Selective Adoption model allows customers to consume newly developed or delivered features and maintenance on their terms, thus avoiding the need for costly and disruptive upgrades. Lifecycle management investments have brought greater automation and lowered the cost to operate and maintain PeopleSoft.

Staying Current with Oracle Support

By staying current on Oracle support, PeopleSoft customers can modernize their PS applications and user experience by regularly adopting new features delivered by Oracle. This leads to increased operational efficiencies within an organization, the streamlining of business processes, increased employee engagement and an overall positive impact on the bottom line. Additionally, deploying your existing PeopleSoft applications to Oracle Cloud Infrastructure as a Service can also improve business agility and reduce costs.

Investment Strategy

Oracle’s investment strategy is to focus on its customers’ needs across all areas of PeopleSoft. This includes further enhancements to the user experience, delivering simplified guided processes, and greater insight with the right information, in the right place, at the right time.
