Quest recently had a conversation with Kate Taylor, Associate Director of HR Services, Remuneration & Systems at the University of Tasmania about their PeopleSoft transformation, including upgrading to 9.2 and Fluid User Interface.
The University of Tasmania continues a long tradition of excellence and commitment to free inquiry in the creation, preservation, communication and application of knowledge; to scholarship that is global in scope and distinctive in its specializations—all of which reflects the Tasmanian character. The University provides leadership within its community by contributing to the cultural, economic and social development of Tasmania.
The University has been running PeopleSoft Human Capital Management (HCM) since 2016 and is currently on PeopleSoft HCM 9.2.023 with PeopleTools 8.55. The conversation with Kate highlights a few key points that other organizations should contemplate as they consider upgrading to 9.2 and implementing Fluid User Interface:
- Fluid makes PeopleSoft intuitive, customizable and user-friendly.
- When implementing Fluid, find out from users what Classic screens are being used and why they are being used in that manner.
- Navigation improves with the tile layout and menu structure.
