We last explored the QXW keynote, presented by Jon Vaughn, Bob Monahan and Gary Grieshaber. We left off discussing Personalization Frameworks and how they enable the non-IT workforce to make changes within JD Edwards applications.
Object Tracking and Impact Analysis
When analyzing impact analysis through the lens of object tracking, consider a few of these questions prior to implementation:
- Which customizations are used?
- What is the impact of this update on my users?
- Which objects are being accessed and how often?
- Who is accessing JD Edwards EnterpriseOne?
Server Manager and Health Checks
To decrease the cost of operations and updates, JD Edwards has enhanced Server Manager capabilities, resulting in Health Checks for important businesses servers. Most notably, Enterprise Server, HTML Server, Application Interface Server and Business Intelligence (BI) Publisher Server for OneView Reporting, will be updated.
Joint Venture Management
With Joint Venture Management, which is currently undergoing planning, you can efficiently extract joint venture expenses from the general ledger. Joint Venture Management is slated to be complete by this time next year, says Monahan.
Asset Acquisition and Process Modernization
Simplify your process while adding new assets! Better yet, you’ll get notifications throughout your process, and mobile applications will capture information right at the source.
Lease Accounting Standard
All leases should be tracked on a balance sheet, giving greater revenue tracking capabilities to lease managers. Already released is revenue recognition and lessor accounting for real estate. Coming right around the corner? Lessee accounting, lease accounting for non-property, lease term change management and lease conversion.
UXOne Analytic Component Navigation
Enhancements to UXOne Analytic Component Navigation will empower users to explore business conditions in more detail, without having to perform any detailed tasks within the modules. Depending on your focus, you can drill down to specific data based on chart segment, too.
Orchestrations, Notifications and Workflow
If you’re looking for complex workflow and process automation, turn to Orchestrator to find solutions. New licensing has added Orchestrator to the Core Tools stack, making its benefits more accessible.
JD Edwards Labs
JD Edwards software is positioned to become the most recognized name in applications that improve technological, business and financial functions in coming years. Through more extensive work with artificial intelligence, Oracle plans to package JD Edwards for today’s user, with enhanced dedication to meeting the needs of the next generation.
JD Edwards and the Cloud
Gary Grieshaber took the spotlight to talk about the benefits of making cloud integration a priority for your business. The core benefit of the Oracle Cloud is its ability to offer a user choice and control over their applications via open and secure business solutions. All layers of the cloud complement other applications with a broad set of components, helping your enterprise evolve into a more digitally powered team.
Oracle IaaS
Superior storage, backup and disaster recovery increase IT support for your business. IaaS provides consistent performance because it’s future-thinking and optimized for your JD Edwards database and applications.
