The latest release of PeopleTools, PeopleTools 8.57, embodies several enhancements to important features like Notifications, Analytics, and Search. Additionally, there are also new features like Drop Zones that can change the way you personalize your PeopleSoft system. Check out a few of these highlighted enhancements that are available in PeopleTools 8.57.

 Personalized Analytic Notifications

PeopleTools 8.57 introduced the Personalized Analytic Notifications feature, which enables applications to interact with you. The system tells you what needs your attention based on pivot grid thresholds that define boundaries. These thresholds can be personalized in the pivot grid viewer. If the boundaries are exceeded, a notification is sent, and users can respond accordingly.

Drop Zones

PeopleTools 8.57 also introduced Drop Zones. Configurable Drop Zones allow you to add new fields that are displayed and processed on delivered Fluid pages without customizing the component or Fluid page definition. Typically, PeopleSoft application teams have identified which delivered Fluid pages can be extended by customers and have already added one or more configurable Drop Zones on these Fluid pages.

Analytics

PeopleTools 8.57 Analytics includes enhancements to performance, chart series drilling, runtime prompts, and adding analytics to the navbar and dashboard. PeopleSoft pivot grids and analytics features include multiple enhancements to improve performance. Previously, it took some time to load a large number of facets in the left pane of a pivot grid. Now you can limit the number or facets that are initially loaded, making the page load faster. Remaining facet values are loaded incrementally when you click the “more” link. Other additional enhancements improve the time it takes to attach multiple trees and deep trees. With chart series drilling, now you can drill down to a fact in the selected x-axis and a series in a pivot grid model. Before, you could only drill down to a fact in the series.

Search Framework

The PeopleTools 8.57 Search Framework includes enhancements to multi-facet select and support for Elasticsearch 6.1.2, Delivery, and Kibana. PeopleTools 8.57 enables you to configure facets, so you can choose multiple facet values to filter search results using the “allow multi-select” checkbox on the facets pages. PeopleSoft Search Framework provides several new improvements such as upgrades to Elasticsearch version 6.1.2, shipped with a new Elasticsearch DPK, and search framework that adds index build metrics.

User Experience

There have also been enhancements to the user experience including the unified related content analytics pane, personalized tile labels, grid enhancements, and accessibility enhancements. PeopleSoft 8.57 brings design improvements to the related information and analytics pane.

PeopleSoft continues to improve the lifecycle management process by providing additional search methods for creating update change packages.
