Amira Morcos, Senior Director of Product Strategy for Financials at Oracle, presented on the PeopleSoft Financials Update and Roadmap at RECONNECT 18. She explained that Oracle is looking to make applications more collaborative, innovative and expansive; moreover, Oracle wants to reflect those goals in the delivered features and roadmap items.

While there are already quite a few helpful features out in Financials, there are still items on the roadmap that can improve it. Here’s a breakdown of roadmap items and their key features:

Financial Analytics

  • Major KPIs with Drilldown
  • Real-time business data
  • Personalized Analytics
  • Business/department owners

Copy Subledger Business Unit

  • Ability to copy the existing structure linked with GL Business Unit
  • Starting with Core AP and AR
  • Using default values with updates as needed

Disposition of Entities

  • Ability to configure shutdown by process
  • Allow completion of in-progress transactions
  • Support of Reporting and Inquiry

Simplified Journal Entry

  • Configurable templates
  • Ability to render by user or role
  • Upload attachments
  • Access via Self Service

Credit to Cash

  • Mass update of Invoice Data
  • Expand copy capability in Billing
  • Payment plans in AR
  • Fluid Collector Performance
  • Email statements and dunning from Collection Workbench

Match Collaboration Center

  • Collaboration between stakeholders
  • Ability to view transactions by critical filters
  • Update communications to resolve exceptions

Focus on Period Close Actions

  • Mass update for Run Control as of date
  • Mass delete of Run Controls
  • Ability to control activity during period close
  • Visualization into open periods by business units
  • Mass update multiple business units’ open period

Fluid Approvals

  • Apply approval rules for Journal unposting
  • Visibility to previously denied reasons for subsequent Journal approval flow

Page & Field Configurator features

  • Expansion to Fluid components
  • Support for Form Factor
  • Expand Logical Operators
  • Extend to multiple roles
  • Add activation date
