Overview of the Warehouse Manager UX One Role

The Warehouse Manager UX One role is available for JD Edwards Warehouse Management. This role brings several benefits to users, including access to the associated UX One page and components, tools for receiving alerts, analyzing data, and easy access to related programs that enable users to take action if required. The Warehouse Manager role and the associated pages and components enable warehouse managers to:

  • Receive important alerts regarding types of warehouse requests
  • Analyze warehouse movement efficiency
  • Easily access various warehouse inquiry programs

There are 52 roles delivered in UX One for rapid deployment. You can leverage this out-of-the-box content, configure the roles, or create your own material from scratch. With UX One, users can also enjoy UDOs like role-based landing pages, Watchlists, analytic components and a springboard filled with related actions. This Alert, Analyze, Act paradigm design within UX One makes users more proactive and efficient in their day-to-day work.

Prerequisites for Leveraging the Warehouse Manager Role

Before you can leverage the Warehouse Manager role (WMSMGRJDE) and the associated components, your system administrator must complete the steps to associate the user ID with the Warehouse Manager role.

After a role has been defined, users can be associated with it and security can be applied to provide the appropriate level of access to EnterpriseOne functions. More than one user can be assigned to a role, and more than one role can be assigned to a user. To establish a role relationship, use the Role Relationships application (P95921).

To set up a role relationship in P95921, a system administrator should follow these steps:

  1. Complete the user field and click “Find.” The system will display the user’s assigned roles and the available roles in separate tree controls.
  2. Select a role from the Available Roles tree control and click the left arrow button to add it to the list of assigned roles.
  3. On the Role Revisions form, enter an effective date if you want an effective date that is different from today’s date. Today’s date is the default value for the field.
  4. Enter an expiration date in the Expiration Date field, if one is needed.
  5. Select the “Include in ALL*” option if you want the role to be one that the user can play if the user enters JD Edwards EnterpriseOne playing all roles.
  6. Click “OK.”

Once this is complete, users who log in with this role will automatically see the pages for the role when they log into the JD Edwards EnterpriseOne system.

Warehouse Manager Page

The Warehouse Manager page (P46001X/W46001XA) enables users to:

  • Receive alerts associated with the number of requests that are not processed
  • Analyze the time required in processing requests and volume consumed, and review the location used in warehouse
  • Act quickly by easily accessing the warehouse management programs

Watchlists

There are several watchlists that are available on the Warehouse Manager page. Watchlist alerts are based on EnterpriseOne programs and can help users be more proactive and efficient. Watchlist alerts that are available with the Warehouse Manager page include:

  • Pick: This alert tells users about the number of pick requests that are not processed. This alert is based on the One View Warehouse Request Inquiry program (P46270, version ZJDE002). When you click the alert, the system displays the One View Warehouse Request Inquiry form. The Request Availability form layout and Simple grid format are available.
  • Putaway: This alert tells users about the number of putaway requests that are not processed. This alert is based on the One View Warehouse Request Inquiry program (P46270, version ZJDE003). When you click the alert, the system displays the One View Warehouse Request Inquiry form. The Request Availability form layout and Simple grid format are available.
  • Replenishment: This alert tells users about the number of replenishment requests that are not processed. This alert is based on the One View Warehouse Request Inquiry program (P46270, version ZJDE004). When you click the alert, the system displays the One View Warehouse Request Inquiry form. The Request Availability form layout and Simple grid format are available.

Charts

There are also several charts based on EnterpriseOne programs and made available with the Warehouse Manager page. By default, the charts are rendered using the delivered queries. Each of these queries is associated with a specific program version. To use a different query or call a different program version, you can modify these queries or create new queries that better meet your requirements.

The charts available with the Warehouse Manager page include:

  • Average Hours Spent Processing Requests by Month (P46270X/W46270XC): Use this chart to compare the number of hours spent each month to process requests for the selected branch/plant. The requests are categorized by averaged time unsuggested, the average time from suggestion to confirmation, and the average time to process the entire request. This chart is based on the One View Warehouse Request Inquiry program (P46270). You can use the dropdown menu on the top of the chart to change the data that the system displays. You can select either Pick, Putaway, or Replenishment as an option.
  • Backlog – Number of Requests Not Processed Within 24 Hours (P46270X/W46270XB)Use this chart to review the number of requests that are not processed within 24 hours for the selected branch/plant. The bar graph displays information by month and categorizes the 24–hour periods as between 24–48 hours, between 48–72 hours, and 72 hours or more. When you hover over a bar within the chart, it displays a value that is calculated as the percentage of the number of requests not processed/total number of requests not processed. This chart is based on the One View Warehouse Request Inquiry program (P46270). You can use the dropdown menu on the top of the chart to change the data that the system displays. You can select either Pick, Putaway, or Replenishment as an option.
  • Ten Most Requested Items (P46270X/W46270XA): Use this chart to view the 10 most requested items during a specific period. This chart is based on the One View Warehouse Request Inquiry program (P46270). You can use the dropdown menu on the top of the chart to change the data that the system displays. You can select either Pick, Putaway, or Replenishment as an option.
  • Volume by Zone (P46273X/W46273XA): Use this chart to review and compare the available and used volume in each of the respective zones in your warehouse. This chart is based on the One View Warehouse Location Inquiry program (P46273). It’s important to note that the branch/plant used in the query must be the same as that set in the Work with Default Location and Printers program (P400951). You can use the dropdown menu on the top of the chart to change the data that the system displays. You can select either Pick, Putaway, or Replenishment as an option.

Springboard Tasks

Finally, the Warehouse Manager page offers several springboard tasks that can be used to access EnterpriseOne programs and other UX One pages. These tasks are included in a springboard on the page. Tasks included with the Warehouse Manager page include:

  • Location Utilization: Use this task to access the Location Utilization – Work with Location Utilization program (P46220).
  • Location Master: Use this task to access the Location Master – Work with Location Master program (P4100).
  • Putaway Requests: Use this task to access the Putaway Requests Inquiry – Putaway Request Inquiry program (P4600, version ZJDE0002).
  • Pick Request Inquiry: Use this task to access the Picking Requests Inquiry – Picking Request Inquiry program (P4600, version ZJDE001).
  • Replenishment Inquiry: Use this task to access the Replenishment Requests Inquiry – Replenishment Requests Inquiry program (P4600, version ZJDE0003).
  • Item Availability: Use this task to access the Item Availability – Work with Item Availability program (P41202).
