As part of Quest’s 2019 Cloud Webinar series, Daryl Eicher, Director of Product Marketing at Oracle, presented about how to leverage Oracle Integration to help you reimagine your integration strategy as part of your modernization journey and bridge the enterprise divide between business and IT.
Integration has always been complex but modernizing your organization’s digital platform ups the ante. Consider an organization whose digital platform includes both Cloud and on-premises solutions. While this organization may have extensive functionality within each application, there can be fragmented visibility – rendering an incomplete view of the whole business. Inconsistent user experiences across applications could impact the organization’s overall brand experience. Add to these challenges the costs to maintain, upgrade, and scale for business growth, while keeping an eye on agility. Indeed, integration is becoming even more complex. Thus, it should be of little surprise that Gartner suggests that integration work will account for half of the time and cost of building out a digital platform through 2020. In response, Daryl Eicher of Oracle presents Oracle Integration as an agile integration solution to address these challenges and augment overall digital transformation and modernization efforts.

Look to Others for Example of Integration Strategy
Eicher recommends that those planning to go forward with their digital transformation look to similar businesses that have recently made the journey. Based on the experiences of companies who have navigated the digital transformation terrain, Eicher offers that organizations focus first on a particular metric or small piece of a business process that matters to their business. Once the connectivity and automation have been integrated to address that metric, businesses can tackle future phases building from that success.
Eicher highlighted two companies who have recently leveraged Oracle Integration to advance their digital business:
- Mitsubishi Electric
- GE Digital
With Oracle Integration connecting their Oracle ERP, HCM, CX Cloud, and IoT Cloud Service, Mitsubishi Electric achieved a 60 percent increase in uptime worth millions per minute – reducing their manual processes by 45 percent for a sizable production increase.
A hybrid integration success story, GE Digital achieved an 80 percent reduction in ERPs with 110 managed integrations, demonstrating the kind of simplifications that are necessary and profitable in large organizations as they modernize and transform their digital business.
Organizations need a connected business strategy to take advantage of the growth of modern SaaS applications. How are you modernizing your application and data integration strategy in your digital transformation?
