Headquartered in Paris, France, AXA is a multinational insurance firm serving 107 million customers in 64 different countries with the help of 116,000 employees. A nine-time winner of Interbrand’s “Best Insurance Global Brand,” the corporate team is committed to continuous improvement in their processes. A few years ago, they identified a need to move towards more modern HR strategies. After looking at a variety of options, AXA selected Oracle HCM Cloud to update and centralize their overall HR systems.
Factors in Selecting Oracle Cloud

Once the product was selected, the team developed the following project timeline:
2014 – Pilot CoreHR
2015 – Core Models Definition and Global Move of PeopleSoft to Oracle HCM Cloud
2016 – Pilot Performance Recruit
2017 & 2018 – Mass Deployment
As they began implementing changes, the team ran into a few hindrances. The first performance management system they rolled out failed miserably, so they reset the plan and tried again. However, they arrived at the same result. After two failures, the team decided to invite new voices—the end users—into the redesign stage. After building a process with the managers who would be using the system, they finally found success.
Today, they’ve abandoned their old performance management system of objective setting, mid-year review, and year-end review. Instead, they’ve evolved to overall business and development goal setting, ongoing check-ins with continuous feedback between manager and employee, and one overall rating for the year.

As change took place throughout the massive organization, the HR team knew the importance of change management. They built a team of corporate and local change leaders who communicated regularly to address needs as they arrived.
Today, AXA’s overall system goals are 80% completed. The team is honest about the difficulties in the transition, but they are also ecstatic about their decision to improve and evolve with Oracle HCM.
