Key Takeaways
- There are 90+ out of the box mobile apps available now.
- Mobile Core is the one-stop shop for JD Edwards mobile services.
Out of the 90+ mobile apps available now on Apps 9.1 and 9.2, a few that were highlighted in the session at INFOCUS were location services, mobile barcode scanning and EnterpriseOne watchlists for mobile.
An example came up about a salesman that was in town for a meeting with a potential client. If that client were to cancel last minute when the salesman had already made the trip, he would be able to use his JD Edwards mobile app for location services, set a specific mile radius and see what other customers pop up within that radius. With the assist of this mobile service, the salesman’s trip can be salvaged.
Another exciting feature is the mobile watchlist. Alerts set up in the watchlist can be sent out to mobile users. However, the mobile app requires users to do a manual refresh if they want to view the information in the watchlist; data does not automatically get refreshed and pushed to users unless it is set up as an alert.
These features and many more can be accessed through Mobile Core, the one-stop shop for JD Edwards mobile services. Check them out to see what apps you could be using!
There are also some exciting projects in the works regarding mobile apps and the latest technology. To find out what they are, check out the full presentation from INFOCUS 18 here!
