Oracle Recruiting Cloud is native to the HCM SaaS Suite. This application was designed to improve the quality and recruiting speed of your application process. Cecile Mallory, HCM SaaS Cloud Specialist at Oracle, explained that Oracle Recruiting Cloud brings many benefits to organizations. Some of these benefits include:
- A personalized and compelling candidate-centric experience
- Utilization of sourcing campaigns and CRM
- Use of a comprehensive recruiting solution
- Access to innovative design and technology
The Candidate Experience in Oracle Recruiting Cloud
Oracle Recruiting Cloud emphasizes an ease-of-use experience from the candidate perspective. The landing page within the application is completely configurable. Your organization can add your own logo, add custom images, etc.
Let’s say Cecile goes into the application as a candidate browsing through job opportunities on the landing page. In the example given in the video, the application homepage has words that read, “We love working together. We’ll love working with you.” Those words are hyperlinked to an article about how the company won a “Top 50 Employers for Women” award because of its workplace equality.
The application knew that Cecile was on the application and that she was a woman, so it catered the content to what may be important to her—knowing that it’s a great place for diversity and inclusion. The application did all of this without Cecile ever logging in or creating a candidate profile. It knows from her browsing history that she is likely a woman, so the application can proactively send information about jobs and opportunities that could be a good fit.
In this scenario, Cecile is looking for a marketing position. When she searches for the position, the results show a brief summary of all available jobs that fit her search. She can click on a job posting for more details about the job. There are videos available about the job, the job identification ID, the primary location, etc. As she scrolls down, she can read the full job description and responsibilities that it entails. She even has the opportunity to share the job posting on social media if she wants to.
One unique feature that you can leverage is a chatbot that pops up as the candidate is browsing through the job description. A message appears at the bottom of the screen that reads, “Hi! Just let me know if you need help with anything!” The candidate can click on the bot and get more information by conversing with it. It can answer any questions that she has about the position or organization. You can learn how to build a chatbot with Oracle Cloud here.
If Cecile ultimately decides to apply for the job, she can do so directly within Oracle Recruiting Cloud. All she has to do is provide her email address. She doesn’t even have to create a profile. This is because Oracle knew that if the application process is too tedious, many prospective candidates won’t go through with it and complete an application.
Once Cecile has provided her email address, she is presented with opportunities to import her profile from sites like LinkedIn, Indeed, or just uploading a resume. Doing this automatically fills out the contact information, address details, experience, and education. If there are any changes or additions that need to be made, she can make those before clicking “Submit.”
After she submits her application, Cecile is shown other job postings that the application thinks she would be interested in based on her previous searches and experience that the application has gathered from her uploaded profile or resume. If the organization wanted to promote an event like a career fair that it will be at, this would be a good time to place a blurb about that as well.
The Hiring Manager Experience in Oracle Recruiting Cloud
As a hiring manager, your homepage presents you with everything you can do as both an employee and a manager. If you go to the “My Team” tab, you can see tiles for onboarding, hiring, performance overview, and more. If you click on the Hiring tile, you’ll be able to see all job requisitions that you currently have in progress. You can also create a new one.
When you click on a job requisition, you are able to view further details about it. You’ll be able to see that total number of applications that have come through for the position, and you will also be able to see a breakdown of new, active, referred, unconfirmed, hired, and added applications within that total number. If you click on one of the categories, it will take you to all of the applicants within that category. You will be able to view summary cards with the applicants’ information like name, location, status within the process, experience, education, etc. Click on an applicant’s summary card to get even more details about him or her.
If any job offers are made, a manager will be able to see all of the details included in the offer from the job requisitions homepage. The manager will be able to see the offered starting salary, job details, the actual job offer letter that was sent to the candidate, and more.
The New Hire Experience in Oracle Recruiting Cloud
Once a candidate accepts your offer, you can send a pre-hire checklist before the new hire comes in for her first day of work. This checklist is completely configurable but can help new hires get acclimated to your organization and get excited about joining your team.
In the video’s example, Sara—the new hire—received an email to welcome her to the organization and provide her with helpful information before her first day. When Sara heads into the application, she sees that there are steps for her to complete before her first day. Examples of these steps might be to complete a confidentiality agreement or upload education certificates. There are also steps for Sara to complete on her first day and within her first 30 days.
Within the pre-boarding stage of the application, Sara can verify that her personal details are still correct or have changed since her application. She will also be given information about the date and time that she is expected to show up for her first day of work, and the address for the organization is provided in case she needs it. Organizations can also embed videos to welcome the new hire and get her excited about getting to work. For example, you could include a video of all of the employee’s that will be on the new hire’s team saying hello and welcoming her to the organization. As she continues through the application, Sara can browse through links like a virtual tour of the office, information about the company culture, and a little background about the organization.
Once she has finished a step, Sara can mark it as complete. Managers have the option to mark steps as required or optional. They can also designate a specific order that the steps must be completed in. If there is documentation that the new hire has to sign, she can sign it electronically and submit it within the application.
The purpose of all of this is to give organizations the tools and opportunities to engage and proactively build relationships with potential candidates and new hires. This is also an opportunity for organizations to differentiate themselves from other available opportunities that a candidate may have and provide a great experience for new employees once they are hired. At the end of the day, it’s all about providing potential candidates and new hires with an easy, friendly, intuitive experience that makes them want to apply for and work at your organization.
