IOUG and Quest: Better Together

The IOUG and Quest Combination

Earlier this month, Quest Oracle Community and IOUG shared some exciting news. IOUG will become the “IOUG Database & Technology Community” and integrate with Quest’s JD Edwards, PeopleSoft, and Oracle Cloud community groups. Following a vote, currently underway, IOUG members will join Quest. Our board of directors will become an Advisory Board tasked with identifying educational needs and growth opportunities for our community. The current SELECT Editorial Board will continue to serve the community in our new home.

IOUG will work closely with Quest to transition membership information, content and historical information to support the development of the new community starting on May 1, 2019.

Under this agreement, Quest will assume responsibility for providing content publication services to IOUG’s membership, but the actual content will continue to be written and edited by experts within our community. Learn more about the integration, as well as the member vote, here. Please take a moment to cast your vote now, if you haven’t already.

What does that mean for SELECT?

SELECT will continue to exist as a trusted resource for in-depth, peer-reviewed articles on the topics that matter most to you. We’ll begin transferring SELECT content to Quest’s brand-new online platform soon after May 1.

Of course, SELECT articles will still be accepted for publication during the transition period and after we’ve officially joined Quest. You can continue to reach out to the SELECT editors via email: select@ioug.org.

“SELECT is near and dear to my heart. This unique and critical asset won’t simply continue to exist but should thrive within the Quest community. SELECT will be shared with an additional 30,000 readers as soon as we make the move, and all new content will be tagged to increase our search engine hits. SELECT will continue to be shared as an online resource. We also plan to reintroduce the popular Tips and Best Practices booklet in its customary paperback form perhaps as early as Open World 2019!”

-IOUG President Ray Smith

“Integrating with Quest will be a great benefit for the IOUG community. SELECT will maintain the same editorial standards that have made this journal a powerful resource for many over the last decade. We look forward to the opportunity to unite with Quest and continue to provide the same level of quality, in-depth, peer-driven content, now to an expanded community.”

-Michelle Malcher, SELECT editorial committee chair
