Goals for Oracle Cloud and the Opportunity to Start a Trial

Cloud is the platform of the future, but people still seem unsure about whether their organization is ready to take the next step and make the move. They’re unsure about what it offers, what it can do for their organization, and how Oracle plans to continue to improve it moving forward. A presentation by Rex Wang, Vice President of Product Marketing at Oracle, covered the goals for the future of Oracle Cloud and the opportunity that users have to try it for themselves to see how it can benefit their organizations.

Open

Oracle strives to create a Cloud that is more open, so customers are able to run non-Oracle workloads on Cloud as well. They believe that customers should have a choice when it comes to programming languages, operating systems and databases. Customers should also have a choice about whether to run their system on-premise, on the Cloud or have a hybrid model of the two. In addition, Oracle wants to build a Cloud without lock-in that allows customers to move their workloads back and forth between Cloud and on-premise.

Modern

In order to make the Cloud more modern, Oracle wants to utilize the latest technology like Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Blockchain, Chatbots, etc. In addition to using the latest and greatest technology, Oracle also believes that they have an advantage over the competition because of their second-generation infrastructure, Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI).

Easy

While Oracle may have been known for being complex in the past, they are striving to change that moving forward. The Oracle team believes in getting customers a faster time-to-value. Another aspect that makes Cloud easy for customers is the ability to have Oracle manage the Cloud and technology for them. Whether a customer is looking for SaaS, IaaS, or PaaS, Oracle can take it off their hands and manage it for them.

Autonomous

It’s no surprise that Oracle believes that more services within the platform will become autonomous over time. Oracle already has several autonomous services in today’s Cloud, and the number will only continue to increase. Creating autonomous services can help customers manage processes and run their organizations better and faster.

Now customers have the chance to see how Oracle puts these goals into action by starting a free trial of Oracle Cloud. Trials are a crucial part of Cloud adoptions because they allow customers to get hands-on experience with the system before they buy into it. The standard Oracle Cloud trial is $300 in free credits that can be used over a period of 30 days. To learn more about what you can do with your $300 of free credits, check out this infographic from Oracle about the opportunity for a Cloud trial.
