Driving Business Value Through the Digital Transformation of Asset and Equipment Management

Shelby Klingerman, Content Curator |

Digital transformation is the change associated with the application of digital technology to improve the performance or reach of an enterprise radically. Within Asset and Equipment Management, you can automate manual, redundant, and time-consuming activities. You can also compress processes through system self-monitoring and self-management and enable no code or low code extensions.

Karen Brown, Senior Principal Product Manager and Bev Nicol, Senior Principal Applications Engineer, from Oracle spoke at INFOCUS 18 about how to drive your business value through the digital transformation of your Asset and Equipment Management. You can do this with several delivered JD Edwards features like UX One, Form Personalization and Extension, Gantt Charts, Notifications and EnterpriseOne Search.

UX One

UX One provides an intuitive user experience that highlights important features of individual roles. Here are 11 roles delivered in UX One for Asset Management:

  • Asset Manager
  • Field Service Manager
  • Field Service Supervisor
  • Maintenance Manager
  • Maintenance Scheduler
  • Maintenance Supervisor
  • Maintenance Technician
  • Operations Manager
  • Service Agent Manager
  • Service Contract Manager
  • Service Operations Manager

Each role’s landing page has unique pages that meet the needs of their job functions and these pages can be configured to meet the specifications within your organization better. The Alert, Analyze, Act paradigm structure allows users to focus on conditions that require attention, analyze data through graphical charts and navigate to source applications to take action.

Form Personalization and Extension

Reasons that may have made you customize in the past like removing unused fields or entire sections, adding new fields, rearranging, renaming, making fields required and much more, can now all be done with Form Personalization. You can format forms to meet the unique needs of your organization. If you want to extend a form, it needs to be done before any personalizations. You can add more available fields from the Business View columns.

Gantt Charts

Gantt Charts help you visualize data that might not work well in grids, pie charts or other formats. A Gantt Chart can show you what is scheduled each day, when people are available and when they are being under or over-utilized. If you click on a block, a pop-up will display Work Orders associated with your selection. You can view the chart based on crew, assignee or supervisor.

Notifications

Notifications are proactive pushes of information or a requested action. Business analysts define them, so there is no need to get a developer involved. There are 35 notifications that have been pre-configured and delivered for you to use within Asset Management. You can receive these notifications through your JD Edwards system, a browser pop-up, email or text message.

With notifications, you can increase awareness, reduce friction, and simplify and improve your business process by leveraging the delivered notifications as-is or as a model for your own use cases.

JD Edwards EnterpriseOne Search

EnterpriseOne Search is a simple, yet powerful way to find and act on interrelated data. With the ability to search across any combination of master and transaction data, there is no need to build specific reports or applications. Business analysts or super users can easily configure search groups, so there is no need to get a developer involved.
