Everyone has different reasons for migrating to the cloud. A recent presentation given to Quest users highlighted key drivers impacting ERP application adoption and some overarching benefits of businesses moving to the cloud.
Moving to the cloud can seem intimidating to some, like moving to any new system would. However, there are some key drivers that lead businesses to adopt new ERP applications like the cloud. This presentation highlights four drivers on why businesses are moving to the cloud:
- Changing user expectations
- Painful and costly upgrades
- Complex and aging IT environments
- Budget pressure
Cloud offers businesses the opportunity to grow and share innovation in a faster, cheaper way. Statistics from Aberdeen Group show that cloud costs less for companies across the board, regardless of organization size. The business sizes that they compared all showed over a 70 percent decrease in cost when they moved from on-premise solutions to the cloud.
In addition to the decrease in cost, here are some cloud benefits that were covered in the presentation:
- It’s easy. It has a user-centric design and single-click navigation.
- It’s modern. It has next-generation technology and capabilities.
- It’s personalized. You can have your cloud your way.
- It’s secure. You get all of the benefits without the risk.
- It’s connected. There’s one standards-based integration platform.
