This web demo will be a detailed walk through of the accounting entries created by PeopleSoft Lease Administration to support the new 842 accounting rules and for comparison will include a brief overview on the accounting entries for the current 840 rules. Example data will include 4 leases: an operating lease & finance lease under the 842 rules and an operating lease & finance (capital) lease under the 840 rules. The demonstration will illustrate under both the 840 & 842 rules the accounting entries created at lease activation and will further illustrate the accounting entries for the first few months of each lease as well. As part of establishing our data, we will also perform a brief walk through in PeopleSoft Lease Administration and highlight several of the key features relevant to lease accounting entries and lease classification.
Objectives:

• To provide users with a brief walk-through of PeopleSoft Lease Administration and discuss features relevant to today’s topic.
