Fluidized! Elasticized! Building the University of Colorados Next Generation Employee Portal
Please join us for the PeopleSoft Industry Day
The University of Colorado’s (CU) Portal and Mobile Team was initially excited to adopt Fluid with PeopleTools 8.54. Realizing Fluid wasn’t ready for prime time at CU, we deployed tiles and dropdown menus in a responsive portal using Twitter Bootstrap. Building on their PeopleTools 8.55 base, our HCM team deployed Fluid components in HCM. To utilize Delivered Fluid, Portal was changed to a hybrid of Bootstrapped Tiles and Fluid Navigation. These changes eliminated the dropdown menus resulting in poor usability. Evolving, we Fluidized the Employee Portal, enabled delivered Notifications and Elastic Search, and applied industry-standard icons. Faster access and fewer clicks optimize the user experience. Notifications provide immediate visibility for Employees to take action on required items. They are now able to search Portal Content, Portal Navigation, and critical documentation from Employee Services, thereby providing faster access to content and functionality.
Objective 1: How to embrace Fluid and increase usability for users.
Objective 2: How to Increase user efficiency with Elastic Search.
Objective 3: Using the delivered Notifications component to display custom component notifications to increase manager and employee productivity.
