Who is IOUG?
The Independent Oracle Users Group (IOUG) has been an important member of the Oracle ecosystem for many years and a key contributing partner to the success of COLLABORATE every year. 30,000+ members strong, IOUG represents the voice of the Oracle Database and Technology community.
Who is Quest?
The Quest Oracle Community brings together users across the Oracle product spectrum to network and learn together. Currently supporting Cloud Applications, JD Edwards and PeopleSoft communities, Quest’s recent digital investments allow it to welcome IOUG in a way that will allow us to maintain our unique identity and sense of community while maintaining our valuable knowledge and content resources.
What are the benefits to IOUG?
Joining the Quest community means many exciting benefits for IOUG members:
- Enhanced year-round member benefits, in particular, the Quest online community with features such as the online content library, search and connect networking, webinar series, and lively forums
- Increased staffing resources that will extend member support as well as enable key IOUG functions like speaker recruitment, content selection conference education, content creation, and publication
- Expanded corporate resources – one single corporate membership will provide unlimited company access to Oracle Database and Technology, Cloud Applications, JD Edwards, and PeopleSoft communities
- Additional conference opportunities for speakers, sponsors, partners at INFOCUS, RECONNECT and other Quest programming
What are the benefits to Quest?
Bringing IOUG into the Quest community brings many exciting opportunities:

IOUG adds a fourth user group to the Quest community, which brings additional benefits for our vendors and partners:
- Four product communities within one organization: Cloud Applications, JD Edwards, PeopleSoft and now Oracle Database & Technology
- Three distinct user audiences: apps, developer and technologists
- Expanded networking opportunities
- Expanded opportunities for speaking and event participation
When will the new community structure be finalized?
The agreement has been approved by the Quest and IOUG Boards of Directors. IOUG members approved the move in March and the deal finalized May 10. Integration of the IOUG content and community structure will be rolled out in phases across the next couple of months. Member log-ins, content and groups are all expected to be live on our site by July 1. Check the email associated with your IOUG for log-in instructions.
How will the two companies be integrated?
Over the next couple of months, Quest and IOUG will work together to integrate content, networks, key Oracle relationships and agreements with vendors.
What does this mean for my IOUG membership?
Your current membership and benefits term will be honored by Quest.
When do I officially become a member of Quest?
As of May 10, the IOUG community is officially part of Quest. Over the next couple of months, your membership interest, as well as the IOUG brand and online assets, will be rolled into Quest as the IOUG Database & Technology Community. Member log-ins, content and groups are all expected to be live on our site by July 1. Check the email associated with your IOUG for log-in instructions.
How do I know where to go/what to do?
Quest and IOUG will keep members informed of the community’s progress and next steps via email. Bookmark this page for access to the most current information.
What if my company is already a member of both IOUG and Quest?
If your organization has memberships with both user groups, those memberships will eventually be merged; however, currently, all memberships will be added to the system at their current length. When your IOUG membership is due for renewal, you will be merged with the corresponding Quest membership.
How long will the IOUG website remain in place?
The IOUG website will remain in place and accessible until all content has been migrated to the Quest community. We will keep you informed as to which site you should use for general member access. Ultimately the IOUG site will redirect members to the Quest community once the new IOUG experience is live. We’re anticipating these redirects to be in place by July 1.
Will the IOUG community retain its name and logo?
IOUG will be rebranded to fit into the family of Quest communities. The IOUG logomark will transition to the legacy-familiar brand color under the Quest logomark. The IOUG name will be branded as the “IOUG Database & Technology Community”
What does this mean for the IOUG Board and volunteers?
IOUG’s board members will continue in an advisory capacity for Quest/IOUG operations. All volunteers will have the opportunity to continue volunteering with IOUG and will be contacted about how to continue their involvement.
